ADHM 2019 Finished - 2hrs 22 Minutes
My first 5 KMs were one of the best runs I had in ADHM and I was going really smooth. By the time I reached 10KMs I had overachieved my target by clocking it in 54 Mins. At 12th KM I took my first break because I was going beyond my target speed. At 14th KM I felt a niggle in my ankle, something I had never experienced ever before. I stopped at one of the health stations and got it sprayed and prayed for quick recovery for last 6 KMs. Between 15th and 16th KM I had already stopped couple of times because It was unbearable. At 16th KM milestone I decided to take off my shoes and walk a bit to see if the road can do something for me and it worked a bit. And this is where I did something new which I had never done before, I started running bare feet, yes it was slow but I had to finish it. After couple of KMs it started to hurt again and I got blisters but then I decided not to stop I walked I ran but i didn't stop. When I saw last KM milestone, I sprinted with the thought that there will be ample rest time in just next 5 minutes or so. And with a niggle in my ankle, few blisters I finished it with a smile which will always make me feel proud of myself. I am sad yes that I missed the mark but that can be done next year but what I have found today is something I never knew about myself.
