Two weeks ago I was full of angst about not getting enough done with this time. All of the memes and reminders about not being hard on yourself, or 'it’s a pandemic, not a productivity contest' didn’t make me feel better because the contest I was losing was one with my own expectations of what our first year living in NYC would look like.
I’m not sure what’s plateaued me; maybe just time, maybe exhaustion from self-critique, or maybe just letting go of my previous forecast for the year. But no matter what did it, I’m currently feeling pretty serene with the vast, flat, expanse of uncertainty in front of me, and very into celebrating the productivity of people finding ways to enrich their time in ways I'm still not quite managing.
So today we're reveling at the breathing masterpieces that are Kate (@katenewm ) & Owen (@owenholmesdecor ). It’s no surprise to me that they’ve succeeded to carry over their poeticness into quarantine; elaborate themed dinners (@cookingwithwino ), undertaking painting their kitchen floor checkered peach, or just generally adding a decorative touch to a simple picnic, they are picking up the slack for many of us.
Go revel. Be inspired.
