(3/3) Ramchandra Series Review! . . #QOTD : When reading a retelling of an epic don't you always expect our modern authors to give a humane side to he villain and also attempt to explain and justify their actions!? What does it say about tolerance in today's day and age? . . 💌 And... here are my two cents about the third book - Raavan - The Enemy of Aryavata by @authoramish and the most unusual one of the three. One reason for it is also the book cover which has a face on it, unlike other books by Amish and also because this is te book which as expected assigns a solid reason for Raavan's actions and existence. . . . 🌼 I loved the writing and specially the character of of Kumbhakarna. Also the books does explore the popular myth that Sita was Raavan's daughter, though not in the exact way. As usual, the story is tightly wound and written beautifully. Indian mythological lovers must read this one. . . . 📝 Also, I loved the author talking to us directly when he says the story of the two sages is for another book. That plots definitely needs a closure and explanation now. . . . #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booksbooksbooks #bookreview #bibliophile #booklove #booklover #booksofinstagram #igreads #igbooks #bookworm #book #novel #fiction #IndianBooks #booksreview #nerdsofinstagram #bookishlove #addictedtobooks #bookstagramindia #bookfeature #bookgeek #readingforfun #readabook #becauseofreading #bookloversunite #indianmythology #mythological #thriller

In this Author told about, how the animosity started between Garuda(Eagle) and Serpents(Snake). Very interesting story. Those who love mythological stories, read this short story. 2)How Kerala defeated CoronaVirus by Dhruv Rathi I follow Dhruv Rathi and always watch his videos on Youtube. I like the way he researched the topics and tell the reality. This is a book/short column where he told us how Kerala defeated coronavirus. And other states should also use this strategy. My favourites in the frame... I love Sidney Sheldon...but after reading about 4 books I got bored...he became quite predictable...woman protagonist, the novel revolves round her, the past is screwed, and it often haunts the present blah. But Sidney Sheldon is amazing... Anita Desai...well I love this lady...I read two of her novels...I know not many..this one in the frame and the other one is Fasting Feasting...I totally totally love this book in the frame...basically the protagonist is me after 30years from now... And Shakespear...well well...he is he...The Tempest is my favourite...but I like Othello more...oh ! Some tragic story....nowadays people seldom read plays but plays are really interesting when you read out loud...enacting them infact..with all emotions and dialogues..(.well I did)..its fun..go to Youtube and watch the play.... . #booklover #books #bookstagrammer #bookphotography #booksofinstagram #indianbookstagrammer #indianbooks #book #igbooks #igreads #favbook #bookrecommendations #green #white #aesthetic #greenaesthetic #assam #india #bibliophile #readersofinstagram

•Erika: A thriller by Mansi Narula• It’s a short story with around 85 pages but the story has a lot of weightage. It will leave you baffled. It is a perfect story where a girl rises above all her problems and sadness and gets to become independent and own a beautiful flat in London with her best friend and gets married to a rich man with a good heart until things start to uncover. The ending will leave you dumbstruck and make the whole story so much more interesting. 🅑🅞🅞🅚 🅡🅔🅥🅘🅔🅦 Three Thousand Stitches by Sudha Murty! ✨ #QOTD: ARE YOU PARTICIPATING IN ANY READATHONS IN THE MONTH OF JUNE? I'm participating in #indianauthoreadathon , #tqrjunereadathon and #junepridelovereadathon ✨ I love reading books written by Sudha Murty. They are easy and simple yet have a lot of meaning. I've read around 10 of her books in both English and Marathi. Also, I rarely re-read books but reading her books is always a bliss! This book has a special place in my heart as it was the first book review I posted here! ✨ We read this book in May for @sudhamurtysbookclub ✨ Three Thousand Stitches consists of 11 stories of varied topics. They tell us about the Author's experiences during her journey from being a Small girl in the Shiggaon village of the state of Karnataka to now being the Chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. ✨ I am a Civil Engineer and though Female Engineers are a common concept now, I really loved her story about her Experience where she was the only girl in the entire Engineering College! ✨ Another story where the author narrates her experience of being called "Cattle Class" just because of her simple dress makes us realise the harsh reality of the World which judges us more by our appearance and less by what lays inside. ✨ The stories also throw light upon the atrocities prevalent in the society and the various works done by the Infosys Foundation for uplifting the oppressed. ✨ Though the book is short, I read it slowly just to enjoy it more! The writing is really fluid and indeed a perfect pick even for Beginners! ✨ 🌟:5/5 Format: Paperback ✨ #booksofinstagram #bookcommunity #threethousandstitches #bookstagrammer #readersofinstagram #readers #bookoftheday #bookobsessed #bookblog #bookreview #readingforfun #ilovebooks #bookaddiction #bookaddict #beautifulbooks #booklover #booklove #bookhoarder #nerdsofinstagram #unitedbookstagram #indianbookstagram #indianbooks #sudhamurty #sudhamurtysbookclub #mayreads #booksbooksbooks

(2/3) Ramchandra Series Review! . . 💌 Just as gripping as the first tale, this book "Sita - Warrior of Mithila" part 2 of rhe Ramchandra Series by @authoramish talks about Sita's perspective. I would Iike put across some spoilers ahead, so beware! . . . 🌼 One discrepancy and slightly confusing part was that Sita always knew the process revolving being a Vishnu, the training, the oath etc. On the other hand, Ram's book made it appear as if he was kept in dark about it constantly. Sita's character was always in the know about the things happening between the two Rishis in the book and she even knew that Ram was also being considered for the post of Vishnu. While this made Sita's character and her decision appear more mature and thoughtful, it did not do justice to Ram's version in the first book. . . . 📝Apart from this little thing, I loved the conversations in the book about various topics ranging from duty, love, justice etc. It reminded me of the Shiva Trilogy and the discussion which Shiv and Parvati have about the same. . . . 📖 I am desperately looking forward to the last part of this series to see what turn @authoramish gives to Sita's trial by fire. I am sure it would have some delicious twists and angles to it! . . #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booksbooksbooks #bookreview #bibliophile #booklove #booklover #booksofinstagram #igreads #igbooks #bookworm #book #novel #fiction #IndianBooks #booksreview #nerdsofinstagram #bookishlove #addictedtobooks #bookstagramindia #bookfeature #bookgeek #readingforfun #readabook #becauseofreading #bookloversunite

“A woman can never be angry; she can only be neurotic, hysterical, frustrated”🍁 ^ This is the advice with which our protagonist Jaya/Suhasini has been brought up. But, what do you do when you realise that your anger is actually directed towards yourself and being neurotic or frustrated is not an option.🌙 . This Sahitya Akademi Award winning book explores silence in all its forms and consequences. 🥀 . You are inside Jaya’s head & heart and by the end of it, I didn’t want to let go. The tone was melancholic but not that of pity. 🍃 . The underlying father-daughter relation and how it shaped her life in irreversible ways warmed my heart beyond measure. 💫 . When the solitude of silence transforms to loneliness and lingers long enough- Human lives change...🍁🍂 . Ps- Indian writing is something I haven’t consciously explored and bookstagram has definitely helped me change that. . Let me know about other Indian authors that have warmed your hearts🌸🌸

Book Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 . Synopsis: 21st Chromosome and Other Narratives' is about a psychologist and special educator's experiences. Mrs Champa Jaiprakash's work has touched numerous lives, and through her work, she has made life better for special children and their caregivers. Mrs Jaiprakash wrote her experiences, as stories, which, although fictionalized, is based on real people and true stories. . This book was originally written in Kannada as '21ne Chromosome Mattu Ethare Kathanagalu', and it won Karnataka Sahitya Academy's Madhurachenna Dattinidhi Award' in the 'Author's First Independent Book' category in 2015. . . . Review: I took a long time to review this book because I was afraid I wouldn't do justice to it. There are a total of five stories, and each address a different disabilities—Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Autism & others. The stories are not sanitized; It's raw and real and brings to light the perspectives of both special children and their parents. It talks about special children born to wealthy educated families and children born to poor, uneducated families. Irrespective of the family conditions, the suffering and courage were the same as was the love for one's children and joy to see them become better. . In this book, you see the pain, prejudices, and challenges of a special child. You feel the sorrow, love, and perseverance of their parents. You understand, your past behaviours toward special children—though innocent —probably made them anxious and their parents embarrassed. I was in tears while reading this book. I learned a great deal about special children, things I thought I knew, and my respect for the special educators, their parents and schools grew immensely. . Often we feel life isn't fair with us. I have thought about it, and I am sure you have too. After I read this book, I wondered, how would the special children feel. Life isn't fair to them from their first breath. They didn't harm anyone, nor were they unkind, yet life was agonizing for them. But they don't complain, or criticize; All they do is love conditionally, smile heartily and live minimally. If only we could do the same! . . #bookstagrammer #bookreview

(1/3) Ramchandra Series Review! . . #QOTD: Have you ever read books from a series twice, because by the time its sequel released you had forgotten the events of the previous book? Which series made you read its previous books twice? . . . 💌 This is what happened with me with the Ramchandra Series by @authoramish I have read a lot of retelling of Mahabharat and Ramayan, but this book was league apart. . . . 🌼 In his another amazing mythological thriller, Amish has taken mythological story telling to another level, including angles and plots to the Ramayan storyline such as trades treaties, economic conditions and secret missions which make this an unputdownable read. I liked the twists and turns to this book which slightly differ from the original epic. . . 📝 The characters have been drawn beautifully and as always is the case with Amish, his story is gripping. You can pick any of his books. It's sight seeing without seeing. (pun intended) Elaboration of Afghanistan makes me feel I'm an eye witness. #bookreview 59: SOULFUL- Poems expressing deep feelings of love and sadness. . 💔 This book of 74 pages consists of 55 small, mini and micro poems. As the name of the book suggested, each and every poem is full of soul wrenching sadness and love. Why I said so? Because not every love story is meant to be completed. It could break your heart and wrench your soul in different ways and you can read about them in this book. . 💔 As I said, most of the poems are on sad note. Few of them were more on depressing side for me that seriously gave me chills like the first one 'Hallucination'. On the other hand, few were on fun side like 'Reason of my failure'. And the others were full of inspiration like 'I don't want to be'. So in short, you can find different emotions in this single book. . 💔 Now about the writing, language is really easy. I am a not poem person but I could understand and relate with all the poems. I really liked the rhyming done in few of the poems. I found them very creative from the end of the author. . 💔 Do I recommend? YES! If you are a poem person, definitely give it a try. If you are not, then you can pick this book as a beginner in poem reading. And if someone is dark poem reader, I am not sure about recommending it to them. . 💔 It's available on Amazon Kindle. I rate this book 3.5/5. . Looking for a good book? Take a look at «The Shadow Lines», a Sahitya Akademi Award-winning novel by the well-known author Amitav Ghosh. The book consists of two parts: «Going Away» and «Coming Home». The novel tells a story about Tridib, a boy born in Calcutta and raised in Delhi and his further life in London. The central theme of the book is that different people have different views and it is impossible to find the only one right answer for every question. Have you heard about «The Shadow Lines» before? #bookstagram #indianbooks #indianliterature

📚#book📚 The Tree Bears Witness by Sharath Komarraju . Akbar had married a Rajput princess, Hira Kunwari of Amber as a 1st stepping stone to solidify the Rajput-Mughal alliance, but the mysterious murder of the queen's brother Sujjamal jeopardize his plans. The murder has taken place in the palace garden, at a spot between 2 mango trees & 2 guards who are eyewitnesses see no one committing the heinous crime. So was it suicide? Was it Akbar himself who ordered the killing/ was it the Rajputs who accompanied Sujjamal, his uncles & cousin who are guilty? With his honour & reputation at stake, Akbar asks Mahesh Das, now commonly known as Raja Birbal --his most trusted courtier-- to solve the mystery. . Review: 🔪 The title is apt to the story & the cover is beautiful, but a cover with trees could have been more suitable. The map of the imperial garden given inside the book is helpfu for understanding the setting. 🔪 The book is set in the Mughal era of Agra, in which the author had beautifully crafted a murder mystery around the historical event of Sujjamal's death in his own words & give his own version of the story. 🔪 The author's writing is charming, expressive & to-the-point. The pacing of the plot is tight & the dialogues were intriguing. I must say he had improved a lot over the years. 🔪 All the characters are immaculately crafted. Birbal is depicted as sharp & witty, his intellect will glued you to the book. Azgher, 1 of the witnessing guards is equally clever - a perfect counterpart of Birbal. Gulbadan Begu felt like a sidekick assistant to Birbal. 🔪 The author had yet again successfully created a gripping murder mystery laced with subtle edgy suspense to keep the readers hooked till the end. This time both the identity & the method of the murder are totally unique & unexpected. 🔪 The climax is surprising & unforeseen. More than who committed the murder how it was committed will completely blow your mind. But I didn't like that the motive is not properly clarified at the end. . Overall The Tree Bears Witness was an interesting read for me. If you like suspense, thriller & murder mysteries then this book is a perfect read for you. . My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

📚#book📚 The Crows of Agra by Sharath Komarraju . 1562 AD. Agra. Akbar, 20 years old readies himself to emerge from behind the veil & rule individually from the Mughal throne, but Bairam Khan, his regent looms large in his path. After an exchange of blows & wits, Bairam Khan is subdued. Akbar forgives him & send him Mecca on pilgrimage. However, on the eve of his departure, Bairam Khan is found murdered in his own chamber. Akbar grieved on his death appointed Mahesh Das – a Brahmin with whom he had recently befriended – to find out the murderer. But inside the Mughal harem of Agra - a hotbed of intrigue & suspicion – everyone is a potential suspect – a Crow. How will Mahesh Das, an outsider discover which one among the crows of Agra is the actual murderer? . Review: 🔪 The beautiful cover with crows hovering over Agra's sky & the title is perfectly apt to the story. The map of the Mughal harem given inside the book is helpful for understanding the setting. 🔪 The book is set in the Mughal era of Agra with actual historical persons & events, but the story is entirely fictionalized which the author had mentioned at the beginning of the book. So don't hope for historical accuracy. 🔪 The author had perfectly brought back the historical characters into life & gives them his own personal touch. Akbar & Mahesh Das' character arc is well developed. My personal favorite is Gulbadan begum, the all-knowing Ghost of the harem. 🔪 The author's writing is detailed & descriptive. Although the plot is tightly build up, but the pacing felt plodding. Beside that the book has lots of grammatical error which could have been easily avoided with a proper editing. 🔪 The murder takes place at 25% of the book & everyone in the Mughal harem is a potential suspect. The suspense is gradually build up & makes you guessing till the end who is the murderer. 🔪 The climax is mind-blowing but quite expected. The answer lies not in which one of the crows in Agra but in how many crows are there in Agra. . Overall the Crows of Agra was a fun read for me which I completed in 1 sitting. If you like suspense, thriller & murder mysteries then this book is perfect for you. . My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Currently, read Disgusting Dave and the farting dog. Pages: 200 Price: £4.99 / Rs.465.50 I bought it with a bunch of other children's books. I mean who can resist a title like that? It's a great mix of enjoyable stories and fascinating facts that everyone will love. Dave is really disgusting. He has a collection of dandruff, ear wax, vomit, fleas, lice, and bogies, that he loves to look at under the microscope. He's obsessed with everything to do with a human body. Everyone is repulsed by his actions, but Dave claims it to be scientific. Things were about to get a lot more disgusting when Dave has to look after a farting dog for a week. 😄😄😅 I really enjoyed reading it. I would give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 8Hours Read Recommended to all romance readers Review: In love you fall , in love you rise is a story about a guy named Akash having a conversation with a stranger, Rudra, whom he felt annoying when akash was telling his love story but later realised he is a good listener. After listening to rudra’s thoughts, he found a philosopher in him because his thoughts have the facts which made Akash strive towards him. The book is amazing with attractive cover and awesome narration. This is a short read so i would recommend to those who love to read quick-reads and love stories. #Weekendreadingwithsonam #sofarsogood #bookstagram #book #bookworm #bookbythewindow #bibliophile #indianbooks #indianbookreaders #indianbibliophile #goodreads #bookreview #happyplace #readmorebooks #bloggingthefictionalworld

#bookreview 11 This story is a must read as it is one of the motivational stories one can come across along with the love story that is going on . It is not a kind of novel that depicts just love , rather some of the ongoing issues of the society that we often ignore but don’t realize at the same time that they are creating a huge impact on everyone around us . Positive Points : The way it showcases the problems and situations everyone faces in the society from love to career . Combining two frames into one beautifully Beautifully written lines Negative Points : Sometimes the story feels like it has been unnecessarily dragged it could be kept a little short or something could just be ignored Ratings 4/5 . . . #bookreview #reviewbooks #indianbookreviews #indianbooks #bookishlove #lovebooks #bookstagram #indianbookstagrammer #indianbookblogger #ilovebooks #indianauthorsreviews #indianbookreviews #indianreviews

#bookreview 10 Often we ignore some of the good books only because it's written by a celebrity or otherwise , but I believe we must not do that , I recently saw it on #bookstagram and had to give it a read . According to me this book is a onetime read and should be given to everyone who thinks that age old customs are to be followed till the last breath, because that is not true, daughters are a gift, we can fall in love at old age, and stop considering menstruation as a taboo, these three topics have been wonderfully dealt up in this book. Positive Points: · The way it showcases the problems and situations everyone faces in the society. · All the three stories are beautiful. · Positive in the problems with the solutions. Negative Points: · There are sometimes when the description has been vague in the third story . Ratings Overall : 3/5 . #ReadWithHCI #Book11 One of my absolute favourite by now is Jonathan Franzen. I literally have both UK as well as American version (although I love the american cover from FSG) A sharp and provocative new essay collection from the award-winning author of Freedom and The Corrections. In The End of the End of the Earth, which gathers essays and speeches written mostly in the past five years, Jonathan Franzen returns with renewed vigour to the themes – both human and literary – that have long preoccupied him. Whether exploring his complex relationship with his uncle, recounting his young adulthood in New York, or offering an illuminating look at the global seabird crisis, these pieces contain all the wit and disabused realism that we’ve come to expect from Franzen. Taken together, these essays trace the progress of a unique and mature mind wrestling with itself, with literature and with some of the most important issues of our day, made more pressing by the current political milieu. The End of the End of the Earth is remarkable, provocative and necessary. #books #bookstagram #bookreview #jonathanfranzen #classics #review #poems #novel #write #harpercollins #poemsofinstagram #poetryisnotdead #fiction #nonfiction #story #penguinclassics #panmacmillan #goodreadspoetrybookreview #indianbooks #selfhelp #fiction #book

#Repost @bibliophile_panda (@get_repost) ・・・ Qotd : Do you like books with illustrations? Book : Tarikshir The Awakening by Khayaal Patel Rating : 4/5★ . Oh it was a fast paced thriller alright. The story blurs the line between myth and reality. The story isn't just about a prince looking for his father's murderer or just a story about Tarikshir - a monstrous creature's awakening which had been dormant for ages, its about him becoming a prince from king, its about Rudra embracing his duties and learning to think on his own. Its about him choosing between good and evil. Its a story that shows how a person grows stronger when tragedy befalls on them. Rudra's life as complex as it was turns even more morose when his father is apparently assassinated and as a result the duties of a king is thrust upon him, a prince who isn't ready to become a king yet. He tries though and proves that he is a better man and a king than his father. Rudra despite trying to make his late father happy, at the end realises thats its important to know right from wrong, one's elder isn't always right. Added to this is folklore which , demons, corpses, magic, an evil witch and an age old secret. However,at times it feels like the story takes place in a more earlier period than during the British Raj. I wanted more space for Nafisa, even though she fights at the king's side, she becomes damsel in distress sometimes. The beginning is a bit slow but it picks up speed after King Ravindra's assassination. All in all the story was intriguing especially the revelation of Rudra's father's 'murderer' and the epilogue. . #tarikshirtheawakening #tarikshir #khayaalpatel #bookreview #bookreviewer #solitudeandbooks #quarantinereads #mayreads #bookstagramer #bookstagramindia #bookstagram #bibliophile #bibliophilelife #bookishpost #bookishcommunity #magic #mythology #indianmythology #thriller #kindle #igreads #reader #ebook #bibliophilia #indianbooks #booknerd

The Far Field by Madhuri Vijay Author: Madhuri Vijay Genre: Literary Fiction Read Time: 14 hrs Pages: 464 Pub Date: 15 January 2019 Rating: 4/5 🧞‍♂️ 🧞‍♂️ Synopsis: In the wake of her mother's death, Shalini, a privileged and restless young woman from Bangalore, sets out for a remote Himalayan village in the troubled northern region of Kashmir. Certain that the loss of her mother is somehow connected to the decade-old disappearance of Bashir Ahmed, a charming Kashmiri salesman who frequented her childhood home, she is determined to confront him. But upon her arrival, Shalini is brought face to face with Kashmir's politics, as well as the tangled history of the local family that takes her in. And when life in the village turns volatile and old hatreds threaten to erupt into violence, Shalini finds herself forced to make a series of choices that could hold dangerous repercussions for the very people she has come to love. With rare acumen and evocative prose, in The Far Field Madhuri Vijay masterfully examines Indian politics, class prejudice, and sexuality through the lens of an outsider, offering a profound meditation on grief, guilt and the limits of compassion. 🧞‍♂️ 🧞‍♂️ Review: This book was wonderful. The writing was rich and the story moved along at the perfect pace. I loved the character of Shalini’s mother who made me laugh out loud at points! Shalini herself I found very frustrating, I thought her actions in the book a tad selfish and would go as far as calling her a complete idiot 🙈 The story is about dealing with grief and the awkwardness of family. It’s also about the trouble experienced in Kashmir bringing to light a situation not widely broadcast in the west. 🧞‍♂️ 🧞‍♂️ This book is for fans of world literary fiction (especially set in India). 🧞‍♂️ 🧞‍♂️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🧞‍♂️ 🧞‍♂️ I listened to this story on Audible so this gorgeous photo was taken by @nooshanusha #literaryfiction #thefarfield #india #indianbooks #literary #bookgenie #review #bookreview #bookrecs #whattoread #bookish #bookishpost #instabooks #booknerd #booklover #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #books #booksbooksbooks #booksofinstagram #bookpile #bookcover #bookreader #bookstack
