Living on the island of Kauai for nearly 15 years afforded me many wonderful opportunities. Those opportunities were not just handed to me, but in fact, I had to work my ass off for them.
I not only had to prove my worth to the board builders by providing them 100% of my skill set, strong determination and attention to detail, but that I also would provide to them a strong work ethic that resulted in an outstanding product that their clients could be totally satisfied with.
Pictured is me, 2004 in Wainiha valley, on Kauai, at the Imua shop displaying an 8'6" solid Koa wood, Dick Brewer that I basted several times before @imuasurfboards laminated it. I then hot coated, sanded, glossed, and polished it.
These are the types of accomplishments that have granted me even more opportunities, but more importantly, they have helped me to recognize my worth as a builder, which in turn has helped to shape me, and to grow as a person.
Thank you Dave Implom of @imuasurfboards for giving me this and many other opportunities over the years. You are a legend!
