We are so busy being busy in our lives that this eventually translates into a “busy” asana practice ("how many asana can we fit into 60 min?”). . I've worn these #beats for the last 8 years.... 2 hours a day on walks, runs, listening to podcasts, lectures, books, TED Talks and Coaching Clients in the last 2 years, likely close to 1000 hours of listening and learning how to climb out of grief, heartache, loss and trauma. Nah dulu kalau ke sini musti reservasi dulu, tapi sekarang udah bisa langsung lhoo. Tapi si tadi buat jaga2 saya wa dulu buat pesen menunya. Dari dulu mau nyoba cuman sering belum berjodoh. Pas liat postingan mbak @angeladechrista langsung hasrat pengen nyobain membuncah hihi #bahasanya . Restonya ini self service ya, kalau di luar negeri si mungkin udah biasa ya tapi kalau di sini bisa dibilang jarang dengan konsep seperti ini. Bagus untuk melatih anak lebih peka dan mandiri, karena waktu denger bunyi ting ting kita akan mengambil sendiri makanan kita. Begitupun waktu selesai makan mengembalikan kembali piranti makanan kita. Air putih disediakan secara gratis di #masonjar jadi bisa ambil sendiri seperlunya . Tempatnya relatif tidak begitu besar, tapi alamak homey banget dari depan udah ada tanaman rempah2. Kami kesana pas abis ujan jadi nyes banget suasananya. Masuk ke dalam langsung terlihat #openkitchendesign yang langsung tanpa babibu bikin tambah laper, apalagi baunya minyak kelapa yaa sedeeep bener. Makanannya disajikan fresh setelah kita pesan cihuy yaa.. a must try #localartisans resto dehh... . Satu lagi yang bikin betah ada barang2 unyu2 ada tissu reusable, #producebags beraneka ragam, sisir kayu, @kalika.wrap dan beragam rempah2. Tempat2 seperti ini bisa bikin saya betah berjam2 buat sekedar liat-liat hehe . Oyaa ada yang kelupaan ada kolam ikan kecil yang sukses bikin Mika #selfregulate selama kami makan hehe juga ada beberapa mainan, tadi Mika pilih main Dakon. Let’s talk about the importance of sensory input shall we? One of our senses known as the vestibular sense plays a very important role in our body’s ability to calm and organize, which is huge for our kiddos who have difficulty with transitions and change. My absolute favorite “tool” to use in therapy is vestibular Input. You see I’m a home health pediatric occupational therapist and I see kids in their home and natural environments. Anytime I find something that I can add to my “therapy toolbox” I do because I know not all the family’s I work with have access to a clinic setting. An awesome mom of one of the kiddos I work with found this at Walmart and I literally ran out to buy it. It’s super easy to set up, comes in a carrying case, and best of all is a great strategy for calming the body. Think BEDTIME routine. When it comes to bedtime, it’s imperative to have a go to routine to help your child wind down for the night, Especially if your child is having a hard time falling asleep. All I can say is that I’m super excited to start integrating this into my therapy sessions ....as if I didn’t already look like a traveling circus 🎪 I definitely will now!

So I have two very giddy 5 year old boy/girl twins! 😁 They sometimes find it difficult to wind down at bedtime, especially my girl. I have been playing the Relax Kids bedtime story meditations, their favourite one at the moment is The Robot on the Quiet Spaces cd. I played it on my phone last night and left it just outside their doors while I snuck in to have a shower, when I came out they were fast asleep! 😴💤 Happy kids, very happy mammy! 'I'm so deep in the trenches of motherhood I don't even know who I am anymore' 💥💣 I came across this post by a mother in a Facebook group and it really struck a cord with me. In a lot of ways motherhood is like we have gone to war and have found ourselves in a battle, at times I have found myself on edge, alert, second guessing, forward planning to out smart my opponent. Never being able to relax just a bit, because if I do my kids would realise they out number me and it would be game over! Despite feeling this way I can't employ the usual tactics of war, kill them, have no mercy and take no prisoners because well they are my children (you know I love them). Yet in battle we can act in ways we never thought we would, when we are activated and triggered we will respond with instinct and this is when angry, snappy, irritable mumma rears her head 😠😡, she is fierce and unpredictable. This would be kick ass on the battlefield BUT my opponents are two young children, they are small, vulnerable and scared. 🙍‍♀️🙎‍♀️🤦‍♀️ If you find yourself feeling out of control with your emotions, activated and primed for war please come and spend some time with us. Stress is such a terrible thing to our bodies. Constant stress keep cortisol flowing to our brains, which can burn out our adrenal glands and literally put holes in your brain. Sleep depravation is also terrible as when we hit "REM" our body works hard to Clean the plaques that build up during the day. If this doesn't happen then they continue to build up and can contribute to dementia as we age. Adventuring around the PNW with these two during big storm prep. It’s good to bond and make space for talking about what’s on their minds/hearts. They see and hear everything that’s going on in the world and it’s not that different from past generations. We had big natural disasters, recessions, the Cold War, Desert Storm, 9/11, the Gulf War and many more scary events, including the 18 year war we’ve been in. As I’m learning to self-regulate to make space for what needs me, I co-regulate with them so they know how to manage their strong emotions when they get older.
