Take pictures often!! I try to take lots of photos so that when I feel stagnant, I don’t forget how far I’ve come. I’m currently have a 3week break from the scales, as I felt myself obsessing over it🤦🏽‍♀️ but still hitting the gym hard🤪. Lil progress pic 🤗 (The lighting is different so it’s probably not an accurate representation) 🙃 The picture on the left is 1 week into the @shreddy lean muscle guide and the one on the right is from Sunday night, 4 weeks into #shreddy I’ve been having a lot of fun following this guide, I love that the workouts alternate different variations of the main lifts that you’d expect to see in any sort of weight lifting plan and that the supersets/ accessory work switches up often enough to keep the workouts exciting. I’m experiencing DOMs like I’ve never experienced them before and I LOVE it. Honestly cannot recommend Shreddy enough, could not imagine training without it now. So, I can definitely see some changes in my body and I’m super proud of myself for being pretty consistent at completing 5/5 workouts a week. My problem is that I’m STRUGGLING to eat enough for how much I’m working out. My weight is pretty much the same even though I’m eating considerably more and I want GAINZZZZ!!! For the first time in my life I’m frustrated that my weight isn’t increasing. 3 wheys to up your protein ✨⠀ ⠀ Whey protein powder is a great supplement to take post workout for its fast digesting nature. ⠀ ⠀ But it’s also great for topping up your protein throughout the day if you are struggling to reach your protein target. ⠀ ⠀ I personally don’t like drinking my calories when I am in a deficit (expect for my one post workout shake). ⠀ ⠀ So instead I usually turn to the following recipes if I am needing some extra protein in: ⠀ ⠀ TIP: I always buy vanilla whey because it will go in almost anything and you can change the flavour easily by adding other ingredients: adding 1 tbsp of cocoa powder to recipes will make it chocolate flavoured. ⠀ ⠀ ✨ Protein oats: 40g oats, 275ml water, 1 scoop vanilla whey. Cook the oats in the micro or on the hob and then stir in 1 scoop of whey. Flavour combos I love for this are apple & cinnamon or banana, cocoa & peanut butter 🥜⠀ ⠀ ✨ Protein Greek yogurt & berries: 200g low fat Greek yogurt, 50g berries & 1 scoop vanilla whey. Place yogurt and whey in a bowl and stir. Top with berries 🍓⠀ ⠀ ✨ Protein pancakes: 50g oats (blended into a flour), 1 whole egg, 1 scoop vanilla whey, 100ml low fat milk & 1 tsp cinnamon. Heat a pan on high and spray with low cal cooking spray. Whisk or blend the ingredients and then pour the mixture into the pan (should make 4 pancakes). Cook for 1 min each side or until golden brown. Top with low cal syrup and blueberries 🥞⠀ ⠀ SWIPE for calories

Meant to make the @Shreddy Pesto Pasta today but ended up making a fan favourite instead because my boyfriend was in a right strop for anything other than my cashew pasta so thought I’d share the recipe! - Red lentil pasta (75g dry weight) - Half an onion - Half a red pepper - 26g cashews - 1/2 cup almond milk - 1.5 TBSP of Nooooch (nutritional yeast) - Pinch of salt - 2 cloves of garlic - .5 tbsp of mustard ^ recipe for one. Multiply by number of people Macros: - Fat 15.5g - Carbs 53.2g - Protein 30.5g This is a HUUUUGE portion but it’s super duper yummy. If you up the cashews up the rest of the ingredients below or it’ll be too creamy and make it kinda bland. I know it's #humpday but I am coming at you with a bicep flex 💪🏻 Is that even my arm though? 🤯 Anyone who knows me knows that I have been self-conscious about my arms more than anything else. As a tennis player my upper body was always bigger than with other girls, and I would rarely wear tops that even just revealed my arms let alone spaghetti straps or something outrageous like that. I used to think that "being big" (and big is a relative term) is something to be ashamed of and all I wanted was to shrink. When I started out at the gym I thought: "Yeah sure, maybe I will see some progress but I will forever hate my arms there is no changing that." If only I had known how silly I was. If only I had known that weightlifting would not only change my body, but change my perception of life. Fast forward to today, my arms, shoulders and back have never been bigger and I have the self-confidence to not only wear whatever I want but to work out in a goddamn sports bra (something I never thought would be possible btw). Think about this for a second: we live in an ever-expanding universe. The universe is getting bigger each day, not smaller. The need to shrink is against the universal law. How about, instead of shrinking, you decide to grow with it instead? I DID THIS. ME. And you know what, I am not stopping until my delts are the size of my head because I am not shrinking for anybody or anything in my life ever again. Growing just feels too damn good. ✨ “Believe you can and you’re halfway there” (T.Roosevelt) pls read below⬇️ I used to scroll through social media obsessing over influencers who I believed had the ‘goal body’ and every time I’d promise myself I’d work to improve myself to become more like them... but I’d start tomorrow. This mindset was not healthy, nor was it realistic. I’ve learnt that you can’t expect to achieve goals based on other people’s realities because you are unique and not made to look exactly like others (easier said than done I know). Set goals based on YOU, compare only against YOURSELF with the use of progress pictures, and celebrate YOUR achievements no matter how small. Once you are set on a goal, don’t expect to achieve it instantly but leave room for trial and error and find what works for you. This can be in all aspects of life, be it fitness or not. The key is not to put it off because now isn’t the ‘right time’ because there never will be a right time. Something seemed to click at the start of the year and I committed to my goals of improving my health and general fitness. I worked hard, had days where I felt like giving up and still had evenings where a bag of choc buttons where my everything, yet I still managed to remind myself of the small achievements I had made along the way and continued to persevere. I’m proud of how far I’ve come but I still have far to go and I like that because I love a challenge and having something to work towards. Yes it’s nearly the end of 2019, but why put off setting goals until the new year when you could get a two month head start. A lot can change in two months... ‼️Also pls can I have advice for an inflamed gut, omg it hates me and gives me such a weird bloat and is painful😭 (~ 6months between pictures {relaxed}. My current favourite ab exercises 🔥🙌🏻⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’ve been trying to stay consistent & include an mini ab workout every gym session! mental health..... since doing the #shreddy challenge the biggest change I’ve noticed is in my mood! I’ve been feeling more confident and generally just happier which took me a while to notice. But this week I’ve been feeling very 💩. I havent been to the gym since saturday because I dont drive so couldnt get there and even though I really wanted to go today I havent been able to, and I know I wont be able to go tomorrow either. Its not so much the physical progress I’m upset about (although that is disheartening) its just that I feel like I need some stress relief? The gym always clears my mind and i’ve been enjoying @shreddy so much, so now I’m just feeling stressed upset and overwhelmed (I have A LOT of work atm). Anyways sorry for the pity party I just felt I’d share to show an honest representation of my journey 💕 . . *also feeling a little self conscious with this selfie so might end up deleting*

✧LEG DAY✧ - Here’s my leg workout from last night!! You can use a pre-weighted straight/EZ bar or hold a pair of dumbbells as well if you’re not feeling the barbell or don’t have access to one. Really make sure to sQuEeZe at the top of each rep!💥💥 - Double tap🖤, save, & lets GET THIS BREAAAAD🍞🍞 - ↠ 4 x 10, 8, 8, 6 squats (increase weight as # of reps decrease) ↠ 4 x 12 alternating reverse lunge (6 each leg) ↠ 4 x 10 straight leg deadlift ↠ 4 x 12 calf raises ↠ 4 x 1 and 1/2 hip thrusts to FAILURE (dis one kills😅 my glutes are so sore today!)

✧BODYWEIGHT CARDIO CIRCUIT✧ - Even though it’s #bulkseason, I try to do at least 1 cardio session a week so that my endurance doesn’t completely disappear lol and also for cardiovascular health!! It’s actually insane how good exercise is for your body and mind.. so let’s take good care of them.🙏🏼💕 This circuit only takes 20 minutes, and all you need is YOU. - 4 ROUNDS- 35 sec of work + 25 sec of rest for each exercise - ↠ burpee (no push up) + plank jack ↠ 2 plank walk + push up ↠ squat pivot ↠ 4 running switch + 4 jump lunge ↠ plank cross toe touch
